How God Communicates with Men and How Can the Recepient Understand what He Says According to the Bible

Disclaimer: This article is based from the topic outlines prepared by the MCGI presiding minister Bro. Eliseo F.
Soriano, as presented orally by him and other appointed ministers to the members, usually in Tagalog dialect, though sometimes other languages are used.As they deliver the topic, I do note taking, writing the details, then reconstruct my words, hence I make this kind of written discourse. Though the words used to construct the texts (except Bible verses and quoted statements) are my composition, the ideas presented here are not mine, which I believe came from Bro. Eli (in the same manner, he will say that these ideas are not his own but from the Spirit teaching him).

If someone speaks and you have understood the message, probebly you will give a feedback, either verbally or nonverbally expressed. What does it sound when a foreigner didn't react at all upon hearing a French curse word? Since he did not understood that expression, he'll just regard it as a whinning native and ignore him. However, the reaction is different if a French heard it, then immediately approached the speaker, responding to what has been said. So, the recepient requires to comprehend the message for him to show a feedback that he had understood the speaker.

Now, if God was the one who is speaking, it's important for the recepient to understand what He is saying, otherwise, there will be no communication at all. Before anything else, we should know God as a speaker so that we will know when He had spoken and when He is speaking. Let's read first Genesis 1:3 KJV, "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Whenever He is speaking, there will always be a "movement", that His words are alive, able to put something into action. Let's read Hebrews 4:12 KJV, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." His words are quick, powerful, and sharp enough to discern thoughts and intents of the heart. The word of God is also capable of giving life. Let's read Matthew 4:4 KJV, "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Even nature responds to His words. Let's read Psalms 148:8 KJV, "Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:"

God speaks to our ancestors (fathers) in different generations and different ways, until to this generation to us, through His Son. Let's read Hebrews 1:1-2 KJV, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" His words are truth, even from the beginning. Let's read Psalms 119:160, "Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever." His works, by His word, are manifold with wisdom and full of riches. Let's read Psalms 104:24, "O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches." Whenever God speaks, it will always happen, like how did He spoken to Elisabeth that she will conceive a son in her old age. Let's read Luke 1:36, "And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren." However, we just have to believe in Him that those things will come to pass. Let's read John 13:19, "Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he."

FACTS HIDDEN ON THE CREATION OF MAN

Let's find out first what Moses had written about God's pronouncement when He plans to create man. Let's read Genesis 1:26, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Moses had given his elaboration in Genesis 2:7, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." But the Bible mentions a "new man", which we shall put on, so it is not made from dust. Let's read Ephesians 4:24, "And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." We should note that in Genesis 1:21, God is rather talking with someone who have the same image and likeness as Him, definitely it is not Moses. So, what is the man that He will create in their image after their likeness? Have Moses seen His face? Is this something materially seen? Let's read Psalms 17:15, "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." His righteousness is the basis on how He will create man, i.e., He is intending to create man based from His righteousness and not based from men's physical features. God is a spirit, He'll be creating something out in their image after their likeness, so the man he will be creating is actually a spirit which is based from His righteousness being His face and likeness. Genesis 2:7 is referring to the creation of Adam whom God created from dust. We shall take note also that God can create man NOT out of dust (Ephesians 4:24). This man have no flesh and blood, so it is capable to ascend to heaven. John 3:13, "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven." The man with flesh and blood cannot do it. Let's read I Corinthians 15:50, "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption." That's why a man should not only be born in the flesh, but also in the spirit for him to enter the kingdom of God. Let's read John 3:3-5, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

When the Bible speaks of "man", it doesn't necessarily mean that it has flesh and bones. Like in Isaiah 2:22, "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" It would mean that we should cease being with men whose breath is in their nostrils, even yourself. So, there is a man whom you shall not cease from being with, a man having no flesh and bones (including nostrils).

FACTS HIDDEN ON THE CREATION OF THE WOMAN (EVE)

Let's read first Genesis 2:20-23, "And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." But, we may wonder how did Moses made a conclusion in verse 24, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." Do Adam had a father and a mother whom he shall leave? That's why St. Paul crarified about this matter in Ephesians 5:31-32, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church."

ABOUT ANGELS AND TO WHOM MEN SHALL PUT THEIR TRUST

Men should not put their trust to his fellow man other than the LORD. Let's read Jeremiah 17:5, "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. (You may continure reading up to verse 18 ). Also, angels should not let men worship them, but only to God will they worship. Let's read Revelation 22:8-9, "And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God." We shall notice that he is able to use our fellow men (e.g. Jeremiah) and angels as a way to communicate with us, but are reminded that we should rather recognize God as someone we can trust.

EVEN ANIMALS ARE USED BY GOD TO COMMUNICATE WITH MEN

Let's read Elisha's story in II Kings 2:23-24, "And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them."

CONCLUSION

For us to understand what He wants to say, we should know now how God speaks. He can use His preacher, His angels, even nature, for Him to send His message to us. Also, God speaks words that are often misinterpreted by men, especially when they are not the one to whom He is talking to. But we should know that whenever He speaks, since he communicates with orderliness, we should also speak to Him in an orderly manner. Let's read Psalms 50:23, "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God."
